It contains about 22% chromium, 5 – 6% nickel, and 3% molybdenum. 2205 stainless steel fasteners are used in demanding applications such as offshore oil and gas platforms, desalination plants, and chemical processing facilities. They can handle high stress and harsh chemical environments, making them a reliable choice for critical applications.
When choosing the right material for stainless steel fasteners, several factors need to be considered. The environment in which the fasteners will be used is a crucial one. If it’s a corrosive environment, you’ll want to go for a grade with high corrosion resistance like 316 or 2205. The strength requirements also play a role.
